Cheap Date with The Suede Brothers!
by Matt on Apr.07, 2009, under Concert Calendar, Music News
Armed with new tunes, Cleveland power trio smashers The Suede Brothers will open the May installment of Radio 92.3’s Cheap Date concert series at House of Blues in The Cambridge Room. People in Planes headline the next Cheap Date, on Wednesday, May 20th. Tickets are $5 in advance, and go on sale Friday morning at 10am.
The Suede Brothers have a couple of worthy shows on tap, including a show on Friday, April 17th at the Beachland with Living Stereo and User Sets Mode+! For those of you that enjoy a good road trip, I can strongly recommend kicking it down to Columbus the following night (4/18) where the Bros will be opening a reunion date by stoner legends (in my book anyway,) Karma To Burn! I think that Wesley Willis (R.I.P.) woulda said that Karma to Burn whips major ass, and really kick out the jams. Something like that.
Speaking of the House of Blues:
Our good friends Sindust will be opening for Days of the New off-shoot Tantric at the House of Blues in the Cambridge Room on Wednesday, April 29th. Both Sindust and Tantric have new albums to soak in, if you haven’t heard ‘em. Those of you that checked out the show that we did late last year with Sindust, know how good that new stuff is. And if you’ve somehow been asleep and missed hearing it on the show, take our word for it, you’ll dig it – go check ‘em out at the House of Blues on April 29th!
Cheap Date with The Doctor Teeeth!
by Matt on Mar.23, 2009, under Concert Calendar, In-Studio Guests, Music News, Show Stuff, Uncategorized, Updates
During last night’s music news, we threw out a little teaser about a new low dough concert series from Radio 92.3 featuring up and coming national bands paired with opening slots featuring Cleveland’s hottest local bands.
The cat’s out of the bag now, and we can share the full details on the Radio 92.3 “Cheap Date” concert series, happening at the House of Blues in the Cambridge Room!
The first show is set for Saturday, April 25th with Cage The Elephant. Opening the show, will be our good friends in The Doctor Teeeth!
Admission is a mere 5 bones (that’s 5 dollars for ya’ll that don’t speak the lingo…) and we MIGHT have some additional good news to share about The Doctor Teeeth in the weeks yet to come, so stay tuned!

The Docs are IN!
Here are the show details for Cage The Elephant/The Doctor Teeeth! Tickets go on sale this Friday, and you can get more information right here!!
In the Cambridge Room
Radio 92.3 “Cheap Date” featuring
Cage the Elephant
with Doctor Teeeth
Saturday, April 25 * doors at 9:00 PM
Tickets: $5 in advance
Ages: All
On Sale: Friday, March 27 @ 10 AMMatt Shultz (vocals), his brother Brad (guitar) and their friends Daniel Titchenor (bass), Lincoln Parish (guitar) and Jared Champion (drums) have spent the last year tearing back and forth across Britain and America, leaving a trail of hedonistic chaos in their wake. Their debut album (recorded in just ten days with producer Jay Joyce), dropped in June 2008, and has been the basis for sellout tours in the UK as the five kids from Kentucky show the children of Great Britain how it’s done.
“Our name kind of stands for the whole of society”, Matt explains, “the people we all are by nature. Sometimes it feels like there’s a campaign to lock up all the good in the world. You turn on the news and hear ‘Today 26 people got gunned down, and one guy got his head chopped off, and here’s a picture of it’. It’s like there’s no hope. And it’s not just the government or the media who are responsible for that, it’s everywhere. But we want to show that’s not right – you can’t cage the elephant”.
